Banner
The current banner picture is a photo taken by a friend of a friend of my partner Jen’s mother. It shows the evening sky of Perth, Australia, on Australia Day (26 January). Prominent in the image are the setting sun, fireworks, lightning, the comet McNaught (in the centre), and the great Aussie icon, the beach.
A remarkable photo. I am concerned it may be photo-edited…

Yay Disney

Tiana joins a list of ethnically diverse Disney heroines — Pocahantas, Mulan, Lilo — that show how far things have come from the days when a pasty-faced princess hung out with seven little white dudes.

Lachie continues to grow in leaps and bounds…
Weight increase in week 4 is a "measly" 325g. Actually, looking at our Plunket weight charts, he is only just above the 50th percentile for weight (ie, slightly above average).
However, length & head circumference tell a different story. Both of these are above the 97th percentile!

Lachie has put on *another* 500g in the past week, so now weighs 4.3kg at day 22! (though it is slightly embarrassing to say that he only weighs as much as I did when I was *born*)

This article from Ben.geek.nz gives an easy to understand illustration of what an internet without net neutrality might be like…
I especially like the "massive" 2000MB (=2GB) you can add for only $5/mth!
