Books fuel drive to learn study

The number of books a child grows up with in their home is related to how many years of education they will complete, researchers have found. A study published in the journal Research in Social Stratification … More

ZOMG!!! ZOMG!!! ZOMG!!!

Home network was broken… Very very bad… Very very sad… :-(

Home network now fixed!!!!!!

Seriously though, our home network completely stopped working a week ago, and I have been wracking my brains trying to fix it.

The problem is described here.

I have been melting my brain scanning microsoft.com forum postings about various aspects of Windows 7 & Windows Home Server, and boy has it been a strain… ;-P

Turns out the problem was not with any of the Windows software, but the firewall (Comodo Internet Security Pro) had somehow decided to block the connection to the server.  As soon as I re-told it what the connection was, the computers could suddenly see each other again, and the network (and my sanity) was restored.

If it ever happens again to me (or to anyone else), here is a forum post with the answer…
