What a difference a year makes…
Dec 31st
As well as being the New Year, 31 December is also the anniversary of our “getting together” eight years ago!
What a difference a year makes. This time last year we were through the first bottle of bubbles and about to head off for an evening of food, fine wine, cocktails… and the odd cigar or two. Followed by two very sore heads the next day.
This year? Our two month old son has arrived and we are at home falling quietly asleep in front of the television…
Yay children!
(PS – We love you, Lachie)
Cool internet enabled scales…
Dec 31st
This looks quite cool – as well as measuring weight it calculates body fat & lean tissue, as well as BMI.
Transmits your information by wifi so it can be accessed over the internet. That's what Leo Laporte is doing (@leos_scale on Twitter) – he calls it "diet by humiliation"! However, at AU$295 ($225 + $70 for P&P to NZ), it's not cheap. NZ$370 is a lot for a pair of scales! The Facts of Terrorism

Some Avatar musings

The special effects were absolutely incredible, but I agree with many people that the story was banal. Another interesting take on it.
